This is called frosting and happens with soy wax. It does not affect the quality of your candle or how it burns.

The discoloring of the wax happens when tannin from the wood wick diffuses into the wax and is normal. It does not affect the quality of your candle or how it burns.

Why did my wax cool "ugly" or "bumpy"?

You may notice an uneven top after your candle cools, this can happen based on the environment your candle cools in.

I trimmed my wick too short and now my candle won't light. What do I do?

Trimming wood wicks can be difficult. If a wick is trimmed too short, it may not burn properly or even stay lit at all. We recommend trimming to 1/4" - 1/8" above the wax. The size you trim to your wick can vary depending upon the burning conditions of your candle. Try the longer length first and if you find that the flame is too high, blowout and trim slightly shorter. If you find that your candle will not stay lit after trimming, give this remedy a try.

Step 1: Take a heat gun or blow dryer (on high heat) to fully melt the top of the wax. Be sure not to hold the heating device too close to the vessel to keep waxing from splattering out. Once the candle has an even layer of melted wax, either pour some wax out or dab with a paper towel until approximately 1/4-3/8 of wick is showing. Since this is a wood wick, only consider the clean portion of the wick when approximating how much wick is showing above the melted wax.

Step 2: Let cool completely. Re-trim wick evenly to about 1/4 above the wax.

Step 3: Reset memory, burn until a full melt pool is achieved.
